Words Are Just Words

6/6/2016

Words are just words Within their culture or social group, one can make up any "word" they wish. A word is just a representation of a thought or an object. Words come together to tell a story or communicate a message. Essentially if the message is communicated, the words themselves are just a formality. As cultures mix and social groups intertwine, communication will become easier and the need for rigid exclusive languages will dissolve. As the people progress, so do the methods of communication. However, Think of it not as evolution or progress, but adaptation. The progress is only relative. We are adapting to the more frequent interactions across cultures. This is evident through the mainstreaming of ebonics, the induction of slang into dictionaries and the Internet's social media culture. Despite Frequent misspellings, mislabelings and improper grammar, communication is still progressing and becoming easier. This just shows that as long as the message is communicated the method isn't much of a factor. What's the difference between a word you've never heard before and a word that doesn't actually exist (yet)? As long as the person who is relaying the message makes the recipient aware of it's meaning, there is none. Within their culture or social group (which is now rapidly expanding), one can make up any "word" they wish.

Communication is universal, words are not...
